January 1981 Founded by Charlie Roberts with five radio stations in NJ, NY, & PA sponsored by Kendall Refining Co.
May 1981 MotorNet signs its 50th affiliate within a ten-state northeastern region
August 1981 Louis F. Bantle (President and CEO, U.S. Tobacco Co.) and Charlie Roberts announce the launching of the SKOAL MotorSports Report™ (SMR)
January 1982 MotorNet signs 75th affiliate. U.S. Tobacco sponsors the SMR for second year
June 1982 SMR expands into southeast signing 100th affiliate
October 1982 SMR carried on first 50,000-watt Radio Station
January 1983 U.S. Tobacco sponsors SMR for third year. SMR reaches 200 Broadcasts per Day on 150 Radio Stations
May 1983 SMR introduces expanded, weekend coverage at no added cost to affiliates or sponsors; 180th affiliate signs
June 1983 MotorNet pioneers regional motorsports coverage - daily programs edited and produced to cover the special interests of each SMR Region: I-NE, II-SE, III-MW
July 1983 50,000-watt, clear-channel WMAQ, Chicago (NBC O&O) signs as 200th MotorNet Affiliate
January 1984 U.S. Tobacco sponsors SMR for fourth year. MotorNet expands coast-to-coast adding Regions IV-SW, V-FW
July 1984 MotorNet computerizes the complex, and adds FREE opportunity to publicize its nearby affiliates and SPONSORS in the weekly programs of the 1000+ speedways covered by MotorNet
January 1985 U.S. Tobacco sponsors SMR for the fifth straight year. MotorNet opens year with 274 Affiliated Radio Stations
June 1985 MotorNet signs 300th Affiliate
July 1985 MotorNet exceeds 400 Broadcasts per Day and opens state-of-the-art newsroom and stereo studio
January 1986 U.S. Tobacco sponsors SMR for sixth straight year. MotorNet reaches 45 States, including Hawaii, and is heard in 88 of the top 100 ADI's
August 1986 Federal law prohibits electronic advertising of smokeless tobacco. U.S. Tobacco and MotorNet end an exceptionally successful, six-year association
August 1986 MotorNet signs Moroso Performance Products as Participating Sponsor
July 1987 MotorNet's MotorSports Report goes on hiatus.
November 1988 At the request of U.S. Tobacco Co., MotorNet designs first ever motorsports news IVR system but again is thwarted by Federal tobacco regulations
January 1992 MotorNet moves into new studio/office suites.
July 1992 SpeedLine, MotorNet's all motorsports 900 (via AT&T) IVR platform goes on line with in house state-of-the art hardware and software from Perception Technology.
March 1993 MotorNet appointed service bureau by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) for custom 900 IVR service.
April 1993 MotorNet appointed service bureau by the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) for custom 900 IVR service.
October 1993 Quaker State Corporation signs multi-year sponsorship with MotorNet for the Quaker State SpeedLine.
February 1994 The Quaker State SpeedLine becomes the official information hotline for the SKOAL World of Outlaws sprint car series.
November 1994 Frees Media of Springfield, NJ becomes exclusive advertising representative for MotorNet.

March 1995

MotorNet's MotorSports Report returns to the air with 70 affiliates coast-to-coast, growing to 300 and beyond.
November 1995 CBS Television LATE SHOW host David Letterman endorses Quaker State SpeedLine in interview with Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
May 1996 McDonald's Corporation announces title sponsorship of both the McDonald's MotorSports Report network radio program and the McDonald's SpeedLine (with a portion of the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House Charities).

June 1996

AT&T MultiQuest offers co-op funding of advertising for the McDonald's SpeedLine
September 1996 Fluoramics, Inc., manufacturer of Tufoil, agrees to become associate sponsor of the McDonald's MotorSports Report
December 1996 Stonebridge Capital Group of Chicago becomes exclusive financial advisor to MotorNet.
January 1997 Annual radio network development campaign begins
March 1997 More than 100 new affiliates sign up to carry the McDonald's MotorSports Report
November 1997 MotorNet and Speedway Blues, Inc. team up to form complete motorsports news distribution agency.
October 1998 MotorNet and Broadcast Marketing form alliance for production, distribution, and marketing of McDonald's MotorSports Report.
September 2000 Ford Racing joins MotorNet as associate sponsor on the McDonald's MotorSports Report
August 2001 Schultz Advertising joins MotorNet team as sponsorship and marketing consultant.
July 2002 Henry Kavett, former ABC and NBC Radio Network executive, joins MotorNet as Director of Marketing and Media Operations.
August 2004 Larry Weiss, radio station owner and broadcast executive joins MotorNet as advertising and sponsorship coordinator.
